AMETRON ART SPACE

about

The ametron [art space] was founded in 2019 by visual artist Evdoxía in the historic old town of Chania, as a meeting point for contemporary art. It showcased her own works alongside those of artists such as Yannis Pappas, Vanessa Toulzoukov, Yiannis Markantonakis, David Clerc and Jean Murgue.

Since late 2023, AMETRON has continued its activities from the interior of Crete, presenting exhibitions in diverse venues across Greece and abroad.

In recent years, Evdoxía has been living and working between Greece and France, maintaining two studios — one in Paris and another in Crete, in a small village outside the city of Chania. This dual base allows her to combine the energy of an urban environment with the calm and contemplation of the island landscape.

Today, AMETRON [art space] exists as the digital atelier of Evdoxía, where light, shadow, and matter continue to engage in a creative dialogue.

The Name

The word ametron means without measure.
What lies beyond the nature of measure reveals the deviation of scarcity or excess from the middle — a deviation from the “normal.”
By questioning systems of measurement, art focuses beyond the regularity of mediocrity, not because measure does not exist or lacks value, but because art extends beyond any strict reality.
